Alberto VELA RODRIGO


I am a lecturer at the Department of English and German Studies
(University of Zaragoza), where I have taught courses of history and
culture of the United Kingdom, English for oral and written
communication in different fields of knowledge and Learning-acquisition
of English as a foreign language. Today, I teach courses on English
language teaching for Infant and Primary Education. My main research
interests include genre analysis, English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
and digital genres in science communication. My PhD thesis dealt with
corpus analysis applied to the study of rhetorical and written
text-linguistic patterns in digital genres that are used to give
visibility and credibility to scientific research and to inform the lay
public about issues of societal concern. My multidisciplinary academic
background has also allowed me to publish academic and informative
articles in the field of Oriental Arts and Ancient History.
