I have conducted research on needs analysis, learning strategies, interculturality, Maritime English discourse, academic and professional discourse, scholarly publishing and English for research publication purposes. I have published internationally on various aspects pertaining to these researching topics, have co-edited the compilation English for Specific Purposes: Studies for Classroom Development and Implementation (2007) and recently edited the volume Applied Linguistics and Knowledge Transfer.
